Didi Chuxing partners in separate agreements with Booking Holdings and Continental
Didi Chuxing (DiDi) and Booking Holdings entered into a strategic partnership to offer more comprehensive and personalized quality travel experiences worldwide. With the partnership, Booking Holdings brands will have the ability to offer on-demand car service through their apps, powered by DiDi, and DiDi customers will have the option to book hotels through Booking.com or Agoda. In addition, Booking Holdings has invested $500 million in DiDi.

We believe that together we can offer smarter transportation services to our brands’ customers and help DiDi’s customers with seamless access to the products and services the brands in our company provide throughout the world.”
In another agreement, DiDi and Continental entered into a strategic partnership for intelligent mobility development. The two companies will cooperate to explore intelligent and connected vehicles (ICV) and customize new energy vehicles.
The parties will leverage their IoT and intelligent mobility capacities to further promote intelligent transportation services and enhance user experience in China. The agreement was signed Tuesday in Shanghai by Jun Yang, vice president of DiDi, and Enno Tang, president and CEO of Continental China.
Jun Yang, Vice President of Didi Chuxing, noted, "New energy, ride-sharing, and intelligent driving set the direction for the development of the automobile and mobility industries. Ride-sharing offers new use scenarios for consumers to experience automotive products. DiDi will bring to the partnership with Continental our data capabilities and transportation AI expertise, to advance technology innovations throughout the automotive industry chain, including hardware, software, and services."
Continental China President and CEO Enno Tang stated, "Our cooperation with DiDi is about further improving the mobility experience for global users. Continental offers and continuously enhances its cutting-edge technologies and services for intelligent and sustainable mobility. DiDi has vast experience in operating platforms for smart mobility solutions. Our cooperation is set to accelerate the integration of intelligent mobility technology into the leading transportation platform in China.
Together with 31 of its auto industry partners including FAW, GAC, and BAIC, DiDi recently launched the DiDi Auto Alliance, or D-Alliance, with the aim of developing an open platform designed to facilitate the integration of the automobile and Internet industries.
Under the partnership, Continental will provide an intelligent connected head unit for DiDi's first-generation customized shared vehicles. The model will reportedly be equipped with built-in telematics solutions.
