Renovo rises to challenge of managing huge AV/ADAS datasets
Autonomous Vehicle Technology announces 2020 ACES Award Winner in Connectivity | Data Management category

Currently, managing the enormous amounts of data generated by these AVs is a struggle. Individual vehicles can generate terabytes of data every day. It can take days or even weeks for critical information needed by developers and data scientists to be identified and made available. However, what used to take days or even weeks can now be had in just minutes thanks to an innovative new offering from Renovo. Insight, launched in July at the RISE Conference in Hong Kong, is said to be the world’s only edge-first data platform that uses AI-powered automation to offer a competitive advantage in the data race for the AV/ADAS industry. The data management and orchestration platform provides critical information needed by developers and data scientists developing autonomous and ADAS products. Insight speeds up the cycle by sorting, tagging, and delivering a company’s most critical data to whomever needs it most—in just minutes. The company claims that demand for Insight from the OEM and AV industries has been unprecedented, for a market slated to be $70 billion by 2024 and $800 billion by 2035. Insight enables AV/ADAS companies to quickly index and tag unstructured data from their development fleets, query the most important insights, and automatically deliver them to distributed engineering teams a claimed 10 times faster than any other approach. As with its other products, Insight is open to the Renovo Ecosystem, which consists of dozens of technology solutions from the world’s best AV technology providers. The ecosystem’s most recent addition, Seagate, joins a list of companies that include Samsung, Verizon, Here, Velodyne LiDAR, Parsons, Inrix, and Argus Cyber Security.
