ANSYS 18.2 designed to enhance simulation speed, accuracy
ANSYS has released ANSYS 18.2, which was designed to bring increased levels of accuracy, speed, and ease-of-use. The company says this will help more engineers to use simulation across every stage of the product lifecycle to design products more efficiently and economically.
The software includes advanced visualization and modeling for better antenna design. In the electromagnetics suite, a new visual ray tracing capability aims to give engineers insight to better understand how high-frequency electromagnetic waves interact with a large-scale environment. In addition, a new RF Link Analysis is available for modeling the quality of wireless links in the presence of electromagnetic interference and radio frequency interference. New wireless propagation loss models are provided for outdoor and indoor scenarios that include additional effects.
ANSYS reports that the release also features increased speed for more robust electronics design, and new acoustics and topology optimization for quieter and lighter products. CFD models in the release are faster, more detailed, and more accurate compared to models in the prior release.
In addition, the release integrates systems and failure analysis for safer products. Topology optimization and transient CFD are included for design engineers.
