Pioneer Z-Series receivers
Pioneer Electronics Asia Centre announced four new multimedia receivers for 2017: the 1-DIN AVH-Z7050BT, 2-DIN AVH-Z5050BT, AVH-Z2050BT, and AVH-Z1050DVD. The range is supposed to offer greater smartphone connectivity, one-cable connection, and a superior audio-visual performance.
The Z-Series receivers can simultaneously connect up to five Bluetooth devices for family entertainment, according to the company. Additionally, users can browse their media library with upgraded Bluetooth AVRCP 1.6 capability. The entire range allows a selection of mobile applications (apps), such as Waze and Spotify, by connecting a smartphone to the head unit.
Plug and play connectivity allows the head unit to automatically detect and retrieve the available content from a connected smartphone. The multimedia receivers are operated via a customizable graphical user interface. Enhancements include device switching, icon display customization, and color and design customization with 112 backlight illumination colors and seven background themes.
The plug-and-play extends to video playback, including full-HD (1080p) support for video file formats like MKV as well as additional support for NTFS format. Users can play clips that are larger than 4 GB directly from portable hard disks. The system features a 24-bit true color LCD screen.
Sound quality refinements include a newly developed circuit board designed to eliminate external interference to enhance audio signal integrity. Audio-enhancement functions include a 13-band graphic equalizer, auto equalizer, auto time alignment, Advanced Sound Retriever, and 192 kHz/24-bit FLAC file playback.
