dSPACE, a provider of solutions for the development of connected, automated, and electrically powered vehicles, has acquired Intempora, a developer of real-time development software. dSPACE says the acquisition strengthens the company’s product portfolio for autonomous driving. The two companies already have a strategic partnership, having integrated the Intempora real-time multisensor application software RTMaps into several dSPACE solutions.

The company believes RTMaps to be an important driver in the development of algorithms for autonomous driving—from rapid prototyping to deployment on the most recent ECUs. The software is designed to simplify engineers’ efforts to capture, timestamp, synchronize, and replay data from various sensors. Complementary solutions from Intempora include the data tagging software RTag, and the Intempora Validation Suite (IVS)—a cloud-based data management platform for recorded data and finding relevant test scenarios.

“The leading solutions and highly qualified team at Intempora further strengthen our software portfolio and consistently increase our competencies,” said Martin Goetzeler, CEO of the dSPACE Group. “We now offer our customers an open, consistent, and even higher performance solution that covers the entire AD development process, from data logging and data enrichment to data replay, scenario generation, and simulation. Based on our end-to-end competencies, we comprehensively support our customers independent of whether they use our integrated solutions or individual components.”

“As part of the dSPACE group companies, we are able to develop our software quickly and in line with the dSPACE end-to-end solutions,” said Nicolas du Lac, CEO of Intempora. “This puts us in an excellent position to support the increasingly complex customer projects in the field of data-driven development. Joining forces with dSPACE is the logical consequence of our years of collaboration. In addition, both companies share the same high standards with regard to performance, reliability, and user-friendliness of their product.”
