Coalition for Future Mobility expands membership
The Coalition for Future Mobility, a group that supports federal leadership in bringing automated vehicle technology to the marketplace, announced the addition of four new members.
Coalition membership is comprised of manufacturers and suppliers, technology and transportation leaders, and representatives of groups advocating for the disabled, seniors, and veterans. Its newest members include:
Aptiv is a global technology company that develops safer, greener, and more connected solutions, which enable the future of mobility.
CTIA represents the U.S. wireless communications industry and the companies throughout the mobile ecosystem. CTIA advocates at all levels of government for policies that foster continued wireless innovation and investment.
What3Words has developed a new way to talk about location, having divided the world into a grid of 3 m x 3 m squares and assigned each one a unique three-word address. This service reportedly makes it faster and easier to find and share an exact location.
The Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America (WSWA) is the national trade association representing the wholesale tier of the wine and spirits industry. It is dedicated to advancing the interests and independence of wholesale distributors and brokers of wine and spirits and promoting the responsible use of beverage alcohol.
The Coalition for Future Mobility is urging Congress to pass bipartisan legislation that will allow testing and deployment of automated vehicles. The House of Representatives passed The SELF DRIVE Act (H.R. 3388) last fall, and the Senate is poised to soon pass the AV START Act (S. 1885). The group believes that both bills would help remove existing barriers to technological and automotive innovation, as well as improve safety and mobility.
